I have played a drum set for over 40 years but I only dabbled with keyboards long enough to learn some of the scales and the way notes relate to each other. Unfortunately I never applied myself to learn the needed hand coordination. However, I always wanted to explore a tuned instrument again. After listening to each of the video demonstrations of each of the different drums I decided to order the E Low Pygmy. I just received it a few days ago. The RAV Vast drums are a great way to explore a tuned instrument using the rhythm and independence we pick up as drummers. This is a quality instrument. It appears well constructed and of sufficient mass. The resonance is superb and it is more sensitive than I thought it would be. Remarkably you can begin to play melodies fairly quickly. Learning which note is which and how the scale is played is a great place to start. For those who might find this difficult, like me, I used my sons cheap acoustic clamp on guitar tuner. Clamping it to the edge of the drum and striking each tongue will quickly uncover the notes for you. The tuner showed each tongue to be in perfect pitch.
Striking the drum with the side of the thumb knuckle is the easiest way to strike a nice resonant note. The first night I got it I played till my knuckles hurt. This forced me to also learn to play the notes by slapping the tongues quickly with the tip of the finger or fingers. I am confident I will spend many hours exploring this instrument. Striking a single note and just listening to it resonate is extremely satisfying all on its own.
Be patient however. Mine took 8 weeks to arrive once it cleared Russian customs. Surprisingly enough it did not come in a box. It was in the padded carrying bag that I also ordered (very nicely made by the way) surrounded with clear plastic wrap, then about an inch thick layer of some type of spray foam and then more layers of plastic wrap. I was expecting to find it damaged without a box but it arrived safely.
Bottom line, if you like banging on things with your hands (table tops, steering wheels, your legs and chest, etc.) you will have fun with this.

Hi Nadishana,
I’d like to let you know that I have received my Rav today.
Wowww…w, can’t stop playing it!
Just in time for a CoronaRav quarantine at home, no need anything else.
After that, with some Rav practice, I’m sure that finally I will get a girlfriend 😉
Anyway, now, my last wish would be, watching you playing alive in any place at anytime, soon.
Thanks a lot.
Miquel

The Rav arrived safely packed, nothing can happen. The Rav is not just a musical instrument, for me it is also a work of art. Everything is perfect, from the look to the tones. I am a beginner and therefore bought the online course from masterthehandpan and I am making great progress with it (I can only recommend it to everyone).
The contact with Nadishana was always there.
Thanks for the beautiful instrument.
