FAQs about RAV Drum
RAV VAST2 is made from thicker steel and it's approx. 15% louder then RAV VAST, but has a bit less overtones. Both models has nice long sustain.
Please note:
- VAST2 is not an improved model of the instrument. It's just a variation with slightly different tone. Some scales works on 1,5mm steel and some works better on 2mm steel.
- It's not technically possible to make VAST scales on VAST2.
- VAST and VAST2 is the same price.

My beautiful B Celtic Minor RAV VAST arrived safely today! I sat and played it for at least two hours. The tones and harmonics and possibilities are quite amazing and gorgeous.

It’s just so amazing how wonderful the sound resonates. I brought it to the lake today and people couldn’t help but stop and ask about the entrancing sound I was making.. and this is only the 3rd day that I have been playing! I have no musical background at all. It’s clear that there is so much room to grow with a the Rav Vast 2 but is it so wonderful that I’m already making sounds that are not driving my roommates crazy.
The drum is worth every dollar I spent and I will likely buy one for girlfriend soon.

My RAV has just arrived, it’s amazing, I’m in love! 🙂 I’ve never had rav or handpan before, and even though I’m totally newbie with this kind of instrument, it’s easy to handle and I can play non-complicated melodies/rhythms for the first time (okay, I studied music for 13 years, maybe that helps). Hence I’m confident enough to play publicly very soon, and I love the sound and the scale (I was researching a lot before deciding). The RAV is great for meditation – for just getting lost in your music, relaxing, and improvising at the same time. Delivery was a bit late due to the case logistic issues (guess covid messed it up), but Nadishana was super helpful with that, thanks again for delivering in time for our yoga studio opening. And the way it was packed is very safe, no chances of any bad surprises there. Can’t wait to go to nature with my rav and play by a lake 🙂 Cheers
